The research is clear: gender inequality is at the core of violence against women, and gender inequality can be prevented.

The Goodman Foundation’s support of Our Watch has led to the establishment of the Our Watch Institute, a national movement to effect change led by corporate Australia.

The Goodman Foundation is proud to be the Institute’s founding partner and to support Our Watch’s dedicated work to eliminate gender inequality and violence against women and their children. The Institute will provide training, tools and consultation to equip individuals and organisations to lead prevention efforts in their own workplaces, communities and spheres of influence.

With one woman a week murdered by a current or former partner1 – there is an urgent need for action.

The experts at Our Watch Institute do not judge any organisation’s progress towards gender equality. The purpose is to tailor options for workplaces just getting started as well as those that already have formal policies in place. With Goodman Foundation’s ongoing support, Our Watch Institute hopes, over time, to reach every Australian so that we can ensure all women are safe and respected in all spheres of life. The Institute can be contacted here.
